The first CALIMA SCHOOLS and surfcamp founded in 1996 in Canaries. It developed from the idea of connecting snowboarding and surfing with the common desire to "Keep on free-riding". This was the philosophy of the first camps for snowboarders in Europe and Spain.
Our guests belong to the international surfing, snowboard and skateboard scene and they are a valid part of the growing surf community in Famara's on the north shore of Lanzarote, together with other people of any age who surf or want to become a surfer.
Thanks to the perfect weather and the swells conditions, we are able to teach surfing all year around. The average water temperature is between 20-23 °C and air temperature is between 20-25 °C, which allow us to surf almost every day.
Every day is different: different swell, different wind direction, different tides, different waves and always a unique wave for you to catch and ride.

In 1998 Stormrider guide considered our surf camps the biggest infrastructure of its kind in Spain. With the opening of our new surf schools in other destinations such as Brazil and Gran Canaria North & South we become an International School competing eye to eye with all the surfcamps in the Europe and the rest of the world !!!
